    The Spanish Society of Palynology, Asociación de Palinólogos de Lengua Española (APLE) is a scientific asociation whose main objective is the promotion of knowledge and scientific investigation in palynology, as well as its transmition of palynology knoweledge to society, and to students and academics. This scientific discipline studies pollen, spores and palynomorphs of present and ancient times.

    APLE groups several palynological research áreas studying:

    - Present pollen and spores (Actuopalynology), their morphology and structure, and aplications to botany and taxonomy.

    - - Pollen Biology, including its development, physiology, structure and function, from cellular, molecular and biochemical points of view, as well as applications in biotechnology, reproductive biology of plant species, and agriculture.

    - Pollen in honey and beehive products (Melissopalynology), with applications in origin certification of honeys and their determinant features.

    - Airborne pollen and spores (Aerobiology), with applications in crop yield predictions, athmospheric alergens and contaminants analyses.

    - Fossil pollen grains and palynomorphs (Paleopalinology), which are found in land and oceanic geological sediments, with application in archeology, climatology, stratigraphy, among other studies.
